on the ultimate resource

Please kindly find "The Ultimate Resource II: People, Materials, and Environment" by Julian Simon. One of the best writings evidently proved that human is the main factor affecting the process of development as well as environment.

Cafe Hayek briefly posted a support on Simon's Ultimate Resource by quoting Mary Anastasia O'Grady findings and mention,
A land rich in petroleum, arable land, and iron ore and other minerals is useless to a society of humans incapable of rational thought and intolerant of change. Nor would such a land of potential plenty realize its potential if its inhabitants are restrained by tyranny or by widely shared misconceptions that individual enterprise, innovation, profit, and the pursuit of worldly pleasures are degrading or sinful.
So, after reading all of the above materials suddenly I remember Indonesia... A big country, with abundant natural resources and population.
